Patty Jassak is the Director of Independent Medical Education (IME) and Medical External Affairs at Astellas, Medical Affairs US. Patty is actively involved in developing educational strategies, evaluating educational grants and advocating for high quality impactful continuing medical education (CME) activities. Patty started her career with an AB degree from Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA, followed by a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science Degree from Rush College of Nursing in Chicago, IL. Patty practiced as an oncology clinical nurse specialist/advanced practice nurse and also as an oncology administrator in the Chicagoland area prior to joining the pharma industry in 2003 with Aventis. Patty is an active member of the Alliance, the Industry Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (IACE), the Global Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (GAME) and MAPS focus area working group on medical education.
